One Premium Truck Stands Out: The Mercedes G-Class
There aren't too many luxury off-road trucks, but one model stands out: the Mercedes G-Class. Whether it's the standard Mercedes-Benz G-Class or the hotter AMG G-Class, this SUV has proven to be a fantastic off-roader and a great daily driver. It’s a favorite toy for celebrities, and almost every top tuner offers custom parts for it.
The G-Wagen: A Favorite for Tuners
The second generation of the G-Wagen, around since 2018, has caught the eye of tuners — and not always in a good way. Companies like Mansory have made wild versions, including a two-door coupe. Another tuning company, Keyvany, is known for bold and flashy upgrades to the G-Class.
Meet Keyvany’s Bold Mercedes-AMG G 63
One of Keyvany’s latest creations is a very aggressive take on the mighty Mercedes-AMG G 63. It has a widebody kit with fender extensions, side skirt add-ons, new front and rear bumpers, a custom grille, and a vented hood that looks quite extreme.
This G 63 rides lower to the ground than normal, has aftermarket wheels and shows off a two-tone paint job with silver and black colors.
Keyvany Branding All Over
The famous three-pointed star logos were not enough for this project. Instead, Keyvany added their emblems to the outside and inside of the SUV.
Inside, it has bucket seats for the driver and front passenger and new leather upholstery in a mustard yellow color with black piping. This bold yellow shade dominates the cabin, combined with carbon fiber trim and more Keyvany logos.
The makeover also keeps the factory ambient lighting and some metal trim, giving the interior a mix of flashy and original touches.
A Bold Makeover, But Not for Everyone
The changes made by Keyvany turn the Mercedes-AMG G 63 into a flashy, showy SUV. It's definitely not to everyone's taste. Some might feel these custom touches detract from the G 63's natural charm. But they certainly succeeded if the owner wanted to stand out and shock people.
More Than Looks: A Big Power Boost
This tuned G 63 isn’t just about the looks. It also got a huge power upgrade.
According to a social media post, it now makes 820 horsepower (metric), which equals about 808 bhp or 603 kW.
For comparison, the stock G 63’s 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 makes 577 hp (585 ps or 430 kW). It can sprint from 0-60 mph (97 kph) in just 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 137 mph (220 kph).
