Novitec Boosts Maserati MC20 to 700 HP

21 Apr, 2025 3
Maserati MC20 Cielo with Novitec carbon fiber

German tuner Novitec has significantly upgraded the Maserati MC20 Cielo, a high-performance convertible supercar. While this car is fast, it weighs more than the Ferrari 296 GTS, which uses more aluminum in its build.

One of the most significant changes is the power-boosted exhaust system. Novitec offers it in stainless steel, Inconel, and even gold-plated Inconel for those who like flashy looks.

Upgrades Include New Exhaust, Wheels, and Carbon Parts

The Maserati MC20 Cielo shown in the photos has even more custom parts:

  • Sport catalytic converters (cats)
  • OPF (gas particulate filter) replacement pipes
  • Carbon-fiber exhaust tips
  • Lowering springs that still work with the car's factory lift system
  • Aluminum wheel spacers
  • Vossen NF11 forged wheels

These new wheels are made for high-performance tires. The front tires are 20 inches by 9.5 inches, and the rear ones are 21 inches by 12 inches.

More Carbon Fiber for a Sporty Look

Novitec also added a lot of carbon-fiber parts for a sharper, more aggressive look:

  • Front attachments
  • Front lid inserts
  • A ducktail rear spoiler, which looks great on the MC20 Cielo

These parts not only improve looks but also help with aerodynamics.

Custom Options Available, But No Price Yet

Novitec allows buyers to customize the upgrades as they like. However, they haven't shared pricing yet. For reference, a well-equipped MC20 Cielo already costs over €300,000 in Germany (about USD 325,000). So these extras from Novitec won't be cheap.

More Speed: 0 to 60 in About 2.6 Seconds

If you want more speed and performance, Novitec's upgrades are worth a look. The new exhaust, OPF delete pipes, and sport cats help boost the 3.0-liter V6 engine.

With Novitec's help, the engine now makes:

  • 523 kW (701 HP)
  • 818 Nm (603 lb-ft) of torque

This setup launches the car from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.8 seconds and 0 to 60 mph in about 2.6 seconds. The top speed is now over 325 km/h (202 mph)—a bit more than Maserati's factory claim of 320+ km/h (199 mph).

Stock vs. Tuned: How Much Power Does Novitec Add?

From the factory, the MC20 Cielo makes:

  • 463 kW (621 HP)
  • 730 Nm (538 lb-ft)

This is impressive for a 3.0-liter V6 but still falls behind the Ferrari 296's twin-turbo V6.

Ferrari's V6 alone makes 488 kW (654 HP). Add the electric motor, and the total becomes 610 kW (819 HP). That's some serious power.

What's Next: Electric Maserati Coming in 2025

Maserati didn't add a hybrid setup to the MC20. But they are working on a fully electric version. The MC20 Folgore will launch in 2025 and use three electric motors.

We got a preview of this electric setup from Alfa Romeo. Their 33 Stradale comes with:

  • An 800-volt system
  • A 102-kWh battery
  • Over 740 horsepower
  • A driving range of about 450 km (280 miles) on the WLTP cycle
