The Lamborghini Urus has become a true legend. It shows what big SUVs can do on twisty roads while offering great comfort, safety, and tech features.
Built on Strong Foundations
Surprisingly, the Urus shares its base with other famous luxury SUVs. It rides on the same MLB Evo platform as the Volkswagen Touareg, Audi Q7 and Q8, Porsche Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe, and Bentley Bentayga. But among them, the Urus is easily the sportiest.
Powerful Engine and Amazing Speed
Before the newer S and Performante models with 666 PS (657 hp/490 kW), the Lamborghini Urus already had serious power. It used a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, making 650 PS (641 hp/478 kW) at 6,000 rpm. It can rev up to 6,800 rpm and produces 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque, which remains the same even in newer versions.
An 8-speed automatic transmission from ZF sends all this power to the all-wheel-drive system. The Urus also has a limited-slip central differential and dynamic torque distribution. For such a large SUV, it is incredibly fast:
- 0 to 100 kph (0 to 62 mph) in just 3.6 seconds (almost as fast as the Ferrari Enzo!)
- 0 to 200 kph (124 mph) in 12.8 seconds
- Top speed: 305 kph (190 mph)
